There are many ways to
Squirrel Proof Bird Feeders.
This is made possible by using the right squirrel baffles and bird feeder poles. There are two main methods of mounting bird feeders: Hanging from a tree limb and using a bird feeder pole. If you use a hanging bird feeder like the
Hanging Baffle Tube Bird Feeder shown here it is important to have a squirrel baffle large enough to block squirrel from above. A second key is placing these in good locations that squirrels can't get around. The hanging squirrel baffle should be 7-8 ft away from a tree trunk or branch that they can launch a sideways jump from.
If you use a bird feeder pole it is important to have a
Pole Squirrel Bafflet that blocks squirrels from below like the black
Cylinder Squirrel Baffle.
The cylinder squirrle baffle should be about 4.5 -5 ft off of the ground. The pole should be 8-10ft away from any other object.
Keeping squirrels off of bird feeders can be a real frustration if you arn't taking some steps like above. Does anybody have a favorite way that they stops squirrel from raiding their bird feeders?
